Overview
NexLog OS Customs is the platform's customs management: NCM/HS classification, Incoterms, trade documents (BL, AWB, Booking), customs valuation, Denied Party Check and integration with single windows such as Brazil's Portal Único Siscomex.
Customs Declaration and Trade Document share the MDM with Shipment (shipments) and Order (orders). Incoterms come from the order, weight and cubic volume come from the shipment and NCM/HS come from the Product Master, with no re-keying between systems.
Core entities
The canonical Customs model gives each entity a display name and an English code name (the MongoDB collection), like the rest of the platform: WMS, TMS, OMS, Control Tower, ESG and Finance.

Tariff Intelligence
AI-assisted NCM/HS classification. Each suggestion is based on the product description, the BOM, the history of approved classifications and case law, and comes with its rationale, confidence level and the sources consulted.
Denied Party Check
Automatic screening of the parties to each declaration against sanctions lists (OFAC, EU, UN, BACEN and industry lists, configurable per tenant). A sanctioned party blocks the shipment.
Single Window
Connector for national single windows, such as Brazil's Portal Único Siscomex and equivalents abroad, with operation-specific connectors.
Multi-standard documentation
Document issuance and exchange in Cargo-XML, DCSA, ONE Record and WCO Data Model, in the format each party accepts.
Customs valuation
Calculation of the customs value and import taxes: II, PIS/COFINS on imports and ICMS-ST.
Tax playbooks
Versioned rules that automate the customs regime, drawback, ex-tariff and special regimes.
Trade documents
Document types stored in tradeDocuments.

Convention: kebab-case endpoints, versioned under /api/v1/; camelCase collections (tradeDeclarations) and PascalCase classes (TradeDeclaration).
Customs as a first-class module
From tax silo to operational core
Customs management usually lives in isolation, in the systems of customs brokers and traders, which leads to duplicated data, rework and exposure to fines.
In NexLog OS, Customs Declaration (tradeDeclarations) and Trade Document (tradeDocuments) share the MDM with Shipment (shipments) and Order (orders): Incoterms come from the order, weight and cubic volume come from the shipment and NCM/HS come from the Product Master.
Tariff Intelligence and compliance
Tariff Intelligence uses AI to suggest the NCM/HS classification based on the text description, the BOM, the history of approved classifications and case law, and every suggestion comes with an auditable explanation.
The Denied Party Check runs automatically on every declaration and blocks shipments to sanctioned parties. Drawback, ex-tariff and special regimes live in versioned playbooks.
International standards and Single Window
Customs speaks Cargo-XML, DCSA, ONE Record and WCO Data Model. When it integrates with Brazil's Portal Único Siscomex and with authorities in Europe and Asia, it uses the format each party accepts.
Because it shares the MDM with WMS, TMS and OMS, international operations stop being a silo and become a natural part of the supply chain operating system, visible in Control Tower like any other event.
